As seen in the Ch. 11 a highly eligible mumukshu called yogi by the means of intense pure mind and self-inquiry can gain Brahmajnana wherein the Brahmananda becomes evident to him. But what is the plight of an ignorant person who is extrovert in nature? If such a person is dharmic in his conduct, he should be advised to take to suitable upasanas or karmas. If he has mediocre jijnasa, the method of ascertaining Ananda nature of atma be adopted. The sage Yajnavalkya had taught his wife Maitreyi in this manner.
